John Davies - Group Chief Executive
John’s passion is helping businesses thrive and grow by providing much needed funding where possible and sharing his hard earned business lessons.
As the founder of The Group, he is focussed on helping to bridge the funding gap that has restricted the growth of British industry. He is Chairman of the recently formed Association of Alternative Business Finance that has been formed to promote best practice in the UK alternative lending industry.
John also sits on the Advisory Board of the Emerging Payments Association.
The JLG Group is also the first alternative commercial lender to become an Associate Member of the British Bankers’ Association.
The Group's principal subsidiary is Just Cash Flow PLC - a specialist lender to UK businesses offering flexible funding solutions to support them through growth and development phases.
John draws on his 30 plus years of experience gained through founding and running a number of companies to give guidance to existing and potential business owners. He is frequently asked to chair or contribute at industry-wide events under the key theme of helping businesses avoid potential pitfalls and the need to focus on key business fundamentals such as planning, forecasting and managing cash flow.
He is a strong advocate for there to be a formal qualification for directors before they set up in business.
He is often asked to share his experience and expertise at FinTech events to educate tech entrepreneurs about the different forms of funding available to them and the need to bring their products to market.
Further to his industry roles listed above, John is Chairman of Kompli Global, set up to provide ‘Gold Standard’ support for a broad range of companies needing to meet the significantly enhanced compliance requirements that the implementation of the EU 4th Money Laundering will introduce.

Robert Boot - Chairman and Chief Finance Officer
Robert Boot is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Robert has held senior executive and non-executive positions in a number of industries, in particular construction services, property development, IT and Corporate Finance. He has been responsible for, or directly involved in, listing companies on AIM, GXG and ISDX.
Robert has been responsible for investment, mergers, acquisitions and sales of many SME businesses in various parts of the world including the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East, Far East, Australia and the USA.
He has been a member of the Bank of England's Panel for South London since 1997.
John McLellan - Executive Director - Head of Banking
John McLellan is Head of Banking of the wholly-owned subsidiary, Just Cash Flow PLC, and a specialist in business finance, including credit, collections and risk sectors.
Before joining the Group, John ran his own consultancy, undertaking various projects across Pan-European Financial Services providers to optimise performance and reduce costs.
Prior to starting his own business John held senior management positions with Aktiv Kapital (UK) Ltd, Cabot Financial (Europe) Ltd and Royal Bank of Scotland.
John is a former Director and Council member of the Credit Services Association and is a member of The Chartered Banker Institute.
Mike Smith - Non-Executive Director
Mike Smith is a retail payments and banking products specialist with many years’ experience in UK and European banking.
Mike joined NatWest on its graduate programme in 1981 and rose rapidly to the top managerial grade through a range of senior Head Office roles in marketing and product management in the Retail Bank.
After 18 years at NatWest, Mike joined the Post Office where he was initially Head of Banking, dealing with over-the-counter services with the UK clearing banks, and then Head of Marketing at the launch of Post Office Financial Services (JV with the Bank of Ireland).
After four years at the Post Office, Mike joined Raphaels Bank, where in 2007 he was appointed to the Board and launched the Bank’s innovative multi-currency ATM network and led its move into electronic money issuing, where Raphaels became Mastercard’s leading European prepaid card issuer and later the first new member of UK Faster Payments since its launch. Mike was voted Industry Contributor of the Year in 2013 at the Prepaid Awards.
Mike was a Director of the Prepaid International Forum for 10 years, was a non-executive director of Faster Payments Scheme Limited, sat on the LINK Network Members Council, was selected by the UK Payment Systems Regulator as a member of the Payment Strategy Forum (a cross-industry team of 23 leading players) and worked on this for two years delivering a new strategy for UK payments at the end of 2017.
Susanne Chishti - Non-Executive Director
Susanne Chishti has outstanding knowledge and influence in the European FinTech space.
She has been recognised in the European Digital Financial Services 'Power 50' 2015, - an independent ranking of the most influential individuals in Europe's digital financial services sector. She has also been named as one of the 100 leading women in FinTech and top 15 Twitter FinTech influencers.
And more recently in September, has been selected among the Top 30 City Innovators 2016 - Inspirational Women
Susanne is CEO at FINTECH Circle and Chairman of FINTECH Circle Innovate, roles that benefit from her entrepreneurial and mentoring skills, alongside her FinTech and banking experience. She is regularly called upon to present at leading FinTech conferences and events around the world. Susanne is the Co-Editor of The FINTECH Book, the first crowd-sourced book on the fintech industry globally.
Prior to this she held senior positions with Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley and Accenture.
Peter Ibbetson - Non-Executive Director
Peter Ibbetson built a career in the RBS/NatWest Group spanning retail, corporate and investment banking.
His last executive role was Head of Business Banking for NatWest. He has stayed close to this group in an advisory capacity, and for a period chaired Coutts for the East of England.
He has also served on Government Advisory Groups in relation to SME banking, and was a Director of the Start Up Loan Company prior to its merger into the British Business Bank.
In addition to a small non-executive portfolio, he was the founding Director of JournoLink, an online PR portal enabling SMEs to engage with the media.
